ssumbot is a free Twitch chat bot and admin panel. This page explains what data we collect, what cookies we use, how to ask us to delete your data, and the basic terms of using the service. We've written it to say exactly what the software actually does, not generic boilerplate.

What data we collect

If you log into the admin panel

Signing in with Twitch gives us your Twitch ID, username, display name, profile picture, and the email address on your Twitch account. This is only for people who administer the bot -- not for viewers or chatters.

If you're a viewer in chat

We store your Twitch user ID (nothing else -- no username, no display name, no email) to track things like VIP/subscriber/follower status and how long you've watched, so features like role-gated commands work. Chat commands you use (like the roast game or cheese-gambling game) are tracked the same way, keyed only to your Twitch user ID.

If you talk to the AI chat companion

The AI feature remembers regulars -- it keeps a short summary of topics and notes from your conversations, along with a log of what you've asked it, so it can hold a consistent conversation with you over time. This is the most personal data the bot keeps, since it can reflect what you've actually said in chat. If you haven't talked to the AI in 90 days, this memory is automatically deleted -- we don't keep it indefinitely.

If you contact us

The contact form on this site stores the name, email, and message you submit, so we can read and respond to it. This is the one piece of data we collect that isn't tied to your Twitch account at all.

What we don't do

• No ads, and we don't sell or share your data with anyone.
• No third-party analytics or tracking. Page-view stats on our marketing site are collected by a privacy-first tool (Umami) that we run ourselves -- it never stores your IP address and sets no cookies of its own.
• No data collected beyond what's described on this page.

Cookies

This site sets a small number of cookies. Most are strictly necessary and can't be turned off -- one is optional, and only ever set if you say yes.

Your light/dark theme preference is saved in your browser's local storage, not a cookie, and never leaves your device.

How long we keep data

• Bot performance metrics: 7 days.
• AI chat memory and conversation logs: 90 days from your last interaction with the AI, then automatically deleted.
• Everything else (VIP/sub/follower status, watch time, game stats, contact submissions): kept while it's still relevant to the feature it supports, or until you ask us to delete it.

Your rights, including deletion

You can ask us to delete any data we hold about you at any time -- this is sometimes called the "right to be forgotten." To request it, use the contact form or email us at contact@ssumbot.com. For viewer data, tell us your Twitch username or user ID so we can find and remove the right records. We aim to action requests promptly.

Terms of Service

• ssumbot is provided free of charge, as-is, with no guarantee of uptime, availability, or fitness for any particular purpose.
• Don't use the bot or this site to abuse, spam, or attack Twitch, other users, or the service itself.
• We can change, suspend, or discontinue the service or any feature at any time.
• To the fullest extent permitted by law, we're not liable for any damages arising from use of the service.
• These terms are governed by the laws of [Insert governing jurisdiction].

Your content and your responsibility

Each ssumbot channel is set up and run by its own streamer. Anything you or your moderators configure — the name of your channel currency, command names and response text, reward and shop item names, block-command logic, any file you upload as a reward, and any text a viewer types to trigger a command — is your content and your responsibility, not ours. By using ssumbot you confirm you have the right to use and distribute that content and that it does not break these terms, Twitch's Terms of Service, or the law.

For files distributed through the digital-download reward: you are the sole publisher. You must own the rights to every file you upload, or have the licence to distribute it. If you believe a channel is distributing your copyrighted work without permission, report it at ssumbot.com/report-abuse with the details and a link — we will remove the file and disable the reward, keeping a record for the affected channel.

Every ssumbot channel shares a single bot account on Twitch. Content that is hateful, discriminatory, harassing, sexualising of minors, or otherwise abusive puts that shared account — and therefore every other channel — at risk. Because of that, we may, at our sole discretion and without notice, remove any content, disable any feature for your channel, or suspend or delete your channel entirely. We don't pre-screen content and we're not obligated to monitor it, but we will act on reports.

Reporting abuse

If a ssumbot channel is being used for hateful, abusive, or illegal content, report it at ssumbot.com/report-abuse. Reports go straight to the platform operator, not to the channel being reported. You don't need an account.

Changes to this policy

If we make meaningful changes to what data we collect or how we use it, we'll update the effective date at the top of this page.
